Training
I believe that horses, like humans, are unique and have unique needs. Therefore, based on their past training history, my initial assessment, and your (the owner’s) training goals, I create an individual program designed to meet the needs of the horse and fulfill the goals you have for your equine partner. The program will include variations of intentional ground work and ridden work. Ground work and ridden work will further be broken down into the areas that I feel need more depth of understanding and clarity, or are sport specific. In my program horses graduate step by step to ensure they are mentally and physically prepared for the next skill or stage of their education. Owners are encouraged to attend training sessions whenever they can, and when ready, will be encouraged to take part in the sessions.
I specialize in working with horses who may be displaying undesirable behaviours. I also start/restart horses, and train for barrel racing and pole bending events.
Cost: $1600 per month plus HST (this includes outdoor board, blanketing and grain)
Initial Assessment
Depending on the type of training request (behavioural, starting) I may require an initial assessment/sessions (at owner’s expense) in the horse’s home location. For horses that are exhibiting undesirable behaviours I find this especially important to observe them in their home environment, as I have witnessed horses present differently when moved to a new stable. This helps me gather ample information to develop a training plan, a realistic training timeline, and to ensure the safety of horse and handlers at the training facility.
Cost $100 plus HST and travel (to be determined)
